About Us
Our Mission
The Arizona Women's Theatre Company produces contemporary, provocative, thought provoking plays written by women. We provide an innovative forum for women's voices.
Our work is guided by these values:
- Produce theatrical works by and with women for our community
- Produce recent plays not previously produced in the Phoenix Metro area
- Provide audiences with theatre in an intimate venue
- Provide opportunity for community involvement and development through audience talkbacks, workshops and events
- Demonstrate flexibility and take risks
We are the only theatre in Arizona to focus on women playwrights and directors. Founded in 2003 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, we produce work that reveals women’s lives and documents women’s experiences.
